Engr. Raji Bello of the Procurement Unit of Kwara State Public Procurement Agency (KW-PPA) has emerged as the first winner of the Best Staff of the Quarter of the Agency.
The factors that contributed to Raji’s emergence were; humility, punctuality
relationship with other staff, resourcefulness, courage, courtesy Innovation and creativity among other attributes that stood him out from others.
The General Manager, Kwara State Public Procurement Agency (KW-PPA), Quantity Surveyor Raheem Abdulbaki during the award ceremony revealed that “the usual is for Civil servants to do things normally, but to excel, you must be exceptional and think outside of the box”.
“It is not the money or item to be given out that matters, but the ability to imbibe the principle of reward, as well as encouraging the upcoming ones to do their work efficiently that counts” Abdulbaki said.
He added that the token given is infinitesimal to Raji’s qualities, but that it is a gesture meant to encourage him to do more and also motivate every staff to buckle up.
Abdulbaki, according to a statement signed by the press Secretary of KW-PPA, Adejoke Adekunle, and made available to newsmen, expressed his believe that the initiative will be sustained and carried on even when he may no longer be there as the head of the Agency.
The Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply (DPFS), Mr Mayaki Madu, in his statement congratulated Mr Raji Bello and described him as “a man that delivers”.
Mr Madu observed that Raji is “a religious man whose religion is speaking for; one whose religion reflects in his character”.
Madu equally appreciated the General Manager of the Agency, Q.S Raheem Abdulbaki for being a leader who carries everyone along and as well gives people a sense of belonging.
The Director Legal and Asset Disposal, Barr. Ahmed Jubril, thanked the team lead for the vision he has in pulling everyone together, while revealing that he is not surprised at the outcome of the selection, as meeting with Raji has been a great success story.
Engr. Raji Bello, expressed his shock and disbelief at the level of love and reference every staff of the Agency has for him.
He appreciated the management of the Agency for the kind gesture and promised to put in more effort in the discharge of his duties.
