An Ilorin indigenous Non Governmental Organisation, Ilorin Likeminds Foundation, has empowered 100 persons in Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The organization also donated new set of Laptops and other consolation prizes for the three best participants at the end of the three weeks Capacity Building Training.
The President of the Ilorin Foundation who was represented at the occasion by the Vice President of the association, Alhaji Lookman Abdullahi Atanda at the programme, said the essence of the programme was to put the youth on the right track of the present globalisation.
According to him “we gathered that we have so many unemployed youth here in Ilorin and the only way we can make them gainfully engaged is by providing them with the necessary training on ICT”.
Abdullahi stated that for one to be relevant in the society today, such person must be ITC compliance.
He said members of the association has put up resources to provide the training for the teeming youth as part of their support for Kwara and Ilorin Emirate in particular.

The President who disclosed that 100 persons were trained in the first batch, saying that more programme is on the way to further improve the lives of the people and also bring about the desired development to Emirate and Nigeria as a whole.
He explained that the certificate given to the participants is for proficiency, and to also prepared them for future benefit.
In his lecture at the closing ceremony of the three weeks Capacity Building Workshop, Professor Ajao Moyosore of the University of Ilorin advised Nigerian Youth against drug abuse.
Moyosore however called on the youth to exploit the opportunity of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to make them become self reliant.
Professor Ajao while commending Ilorin Likeminds Foundation for the initiative, described Information Communication Technology as another opportunity where youth can be lawfully and gainfully employed without involving in illegal business.
In his lecture, the Cheif Executive Officer, Pacifylabs Technologies, Mr Qureeb Esiniobiwa disclosed that many youth have forfeited their brighter academic pursuit because of their involvement in cybercrimes.
The best students among the participants, Mustapha Olanrewaju in an interview expressed appreciation to Ilorin Likeminds Foundation for their support for teeming youth in Ilorin.
Mustapha mentioned that the support would give better future for all the participants .
The National President, Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, Alhaji Uthman Otta in his remark thanked the Ilorin Likeminds Foundation for the initiative.
