The President, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Professor Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa, has solicited the support of members for the Chairman of Kwara State Council of the union, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Ariwoola, for him to succeed in office.
Baruwa said this in Ilorin during his familiarization tour and thank you visit to the Kwara State council of the NURTW.
He stated that the state council of the union under Ariwoola could only be seen to have succeeded when people work with unity of purpose and eschew bickering and divisive tendencies.
The NURTW President urged members to get acquainted with the Constitution of the union through which they would be thoroughly guided on how to aspire for positions of responsibility and conduct themselves within the ambit of the law.

Comrade Sunday Yeye, in a statement issued in Ilorin, quoted the President to have also expressed gratitude to members of the union in Kwara for the confidence reposed in him with his election.
Baruwa was further quoted to be urging members to patronize the union’s sellable items including stickers, motor parks’ receipts and membership cards so as to boost internally generated revenue.
The NURTW President admonished members to ensure that their vehicle particulars are valid with provision of fire extinguisher, pointing out that it was for the protection of members’ vehicles in the event of fire outbreak.
Speaking on insecurity in the country, Baruwa informed that e-route tracking device was in place to ensure vehicle chassis is registered while vehicle movement can be detected through phone or laptop.
He therefore enjoined members to cooperate and key into the programme
