Modibbo-Kawu unveils plans to improve standard of education in kwara


The Kwara State Government has reiterated its readiness to partner with public, private and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in its bid to improve the standard of education in the state.


The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Saadatu Modibbo-Kawu, disclosed this in her speech during the Financial Literacy Day to mark 2021 Global Money Week organised by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) held on Thursday at the Government Secondary School, Ilorin.


According to her, ” the present administration under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq since inception has engaged in numerous projects and programme aimed towards improving quality and sound education and also creating  enabling environment for partnership among public, private and nongovernmental organizations that are ready to support the education reform of the state.”


Hajia Modibbo in a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Yakub Kamaldeen Aliagan and made available to newsmen in Ilorin, further charged individuals, corporate organizations and non governmental organizations to support the State Government  in rebuilding the education sector for the benefit of  future leaders.


She, however, appreciated the organizers of the event for bringing the memorable programme to youths in the Secondary Schools in the state.


In her words, ” let me use this medium to express my utmost appreciations to NDIC for bringing this memorable programme to our youth in Secondary schools. This is a remarkable way to collaborate with the Government of Kwara state and it will go a long way in complementing the giants effort of His Excellency who has been providing a good conducive learning environment for both teachers and students in the state.” 

 Hajia Modibbo also enjoyed the students to listen attentively to all the papers that would be presented for their future benefits.


” I enjoin our students to pay necessary attention to the programme and ensure you learn from the exercise to make you financially proficient ” Earlier, in his remark, the Zonal Controller, NDIC, Ilorin, Mr. China Onyechere lauded the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration on education reform in the state.


In his words, ” your giants strides on educational development has started yielding favourable result that will have positive impact on the life of our students”.
