Kwara Law Students’ association honours KWASU VC with Grand Patron title

The National Association of Kwara State Law Students (NAKLAS) has named the Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University, Professor Mustapha Muhammed Akanbi SAN, as the Grand Patron of the association.


The Vice Chancellor was honoured during a visit by the Care Taker Committee (CTC) of the association to his office, on Wednesday.


While decorating the legal luminary with Garland, the Chairman, CTC of the association, Comrade Moshood Ibrahim, said the decision to name the KWASU VC as Grand Patron of the association was in recognition of his sterling leadership qualities and humanitarian gestures.


According to him, the honour is,” in recognition of your astuteness in advocacy, contributions to humanity, doggedness in discharge of duties with absolute fairness and accountability as well as charismatic way of leadership.”


Responding, the Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation to the association for the honour, adding that the recognition would prompt him to do more humanitarian services and contribute his quota to a better society.


Prof. Akanbi assured that he would be a good ambassador, live up to expectation and justify the confidence reposed in him by the association.


He urged the members to continue to promote the nobility for which the legal profession is known for.


Highlights of the event were the decoration of the Vice Chancellor with Garland and presentation of the certificate of confirmation as Grand Patron by the association.


Others present at the presentation were Comrade Saka Ismail Olalekan and Muhammad Thanni Adam, who are both members of the CTC of NAKLAS.
