Kwara MMPN mourns Bakare, sympathises with NUJ, NGE, MMPN

The Kwara State chapter of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) has commiserated with the family, the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) and the Muslim Media Practitioner of Nigeria(MMPN), over the demise of Brother Abdulwaheed Bakare.

The Union in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Laro Yusuf, said the union received the news of his death with a rude shock, describing his demise as a colossal loss to the NUJ and the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria(MMPN), in particular.

The Kwara MMPN pointed out that the demise of a Muslim brother at the moment had no doubt created an unimaginable vaccum among Muslim Media Practitioners that would be difficult to fill up.

It added that the Union was deeply saddened by the demise of a brilliant Muslim Media Practitioner, but only took solace in the fact that death is an inevitable end of all mortals.

It said the late Abdulwaheed Bakare was a devoted Muslim who served Islam as a Journalist and deployed his media services greatly for a robust media outreach for notable Muslim organizations.

Brother Bakare was until his death, the Saturday Editor of the New Telegraph Newspaper and member of Media Committee of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), among others.

Kwara MMPN beseeched Allah to overlook the transgressions of the Late Abdulwaheed Bakare and grant him Aljanah fridaus.

The statement also prayed Almighty Allah to comfort his family and grant his wife and children the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
