Covid 19/Ramadan: MSSN dolls out relief packages in Ilorin

About 50 indigent people in Kwara state have so far benefitted from the palliative measures being designed by the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), kwara state chapter to mitigate the effect of the ongoing lockdown occasioned by the lingering outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic.

The gesture, which tagged “MSSN KWAU EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND RELIEF TEAM” featured 47 less privilege people strategically drawn across the state as beneficiaries of the first tranch of the palliative measures.

The distribution exercise took place at AZHABUL-YAMEEN MOSQUE beside palm beach petrol station opposite Mandate Estate, Ilorin, on Monday (April 20, 2020). The items distributed included rice, gari, confectionaries among others .

Speaking during the exercise, the Chairman Committee of KWAU MSSN Covid 19, Ustadh Abdullahi Olanrewaju, explained that the gesture was borne out of the group’s response to the plight of people at this trying time.

He said the 47 beneficiaries had already been identified while collation of another names was ongoing for the second tranch of the programme, promising that the gesture would be a continuous exercise.

He therefore commended donors for their show of understanding and for believing in extending hands of fellowship to their Muslim brothers and sisters to serve as a relief at this critical situation of our life.

Olanrewaju called on other well meaning Kwarans and Corporate Organizations to take a cue from the philanthropic gesture of some of the eminent personalities that have contributed to this cause, pointing out that no amount is small to contribute to the cause of Allah.

He explained that Allah’s reward awaits those who believe in Him and do good to others especially at a time like this.”We cannot thank our esteem contributors better except that we pray that Allah reward them abundantly. We therefore appeal to every one of us to follow suit as no amount is insignificant for this purpose. In fact, we encourage regular or continuous donation irrespective of any prevailing circumstance because we have come to see it as a fact that the haves not are often in need of the haves.
“It high time we grabbed this ample  opportunity to attract bogus reward from Allah especially in this coming month of Ramadan. Insha Allah,  plans are underway to extend our activities so as to cover similar distribution for Ramadan”.

While expecting positive response to this passionate appeal from spirited individuals and bodies, Olanrewaju urged all subsequent donors to kindly give an hint of identification when sending in their donation.
