The Vice President of Industriall Global Union, Comrade Issa Aremu mni has commended the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of Chairman of Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR for the Royal initiative on the global effort to mitigate the impact of the lock down in containing the spread of COVID 19 pandemic.
In his letter of congratulation to His Royal Highness on the occasion of occasion of the 80th birthday of your Highness, comrade Aremu, observed that Kwara and indeed Nigeria is blessed to have His Royal Highness at challenging times like this when the world struggles with COVID 19 which threatens both lives and livelihoods.
Aremu said the people of the Ilorin Emirate appreciates the initiative of His Highness in promptly setting up Emirate Palliative Committee under the chairmanship of the Alhaji Yahaya Alapasanpa, DANMASANI of Ilorin and the National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, Uthman Baba to raise urgent resources for the voiceless and vulnerable members of the community.
According to him the initiative of His Highness would go a long way to compliment the commendable interventions of the state government to contain the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic during the necessary lock downs.
“The worthy initiative of His Highness should be emulated by all communities in Kwara State” comrade Aremu said, adding kwarans should support the initiative by giving in kind and cash to the poor at times like this, saying that solidarity should not be left to the government alone.
Comrade Aremu said the modest low key celebration of the Emir’s birthday at times like this should be emulated by all who should maintain physical distancing and perusal hygiene to fight the pandemic that for now had no cure beyond preventive measures.
LABOUR AND INDUSTRY FRIENDLY Comrade Aremu who is also the Member of National Institute, Kuru Jos and VICE PRESIDENT IndustriALL Global Union, Africa Union said that His Highness is both LABOUR and INDUSTRY friendly given what he noted as “his consistent support for the revival of the Nigerian textile industry and creation of mass decent employment for the teeming unemployed youths”.
He recalled with delight and gratefulness how His Highness once graced Textile Union’s Capacity Development workshop through His representative Magaji Nda . He said Participants from all over Nigeria and Africa were accorded singular Royal reception and generosity adding that the Emir is the first Royal father to accord the textile union, the most organized private sector union such Royal reception in its 50 years of existence.
PEACE AND HARMONY
Comrade Aremu who was the Labour Party governorship in 2019 elections said the chairman of Council of Chiefs is an Emir of all adding that Kwara remains the state of Harmony and peaceful coexistence because of the royal support for successive governments of the state.
He said the Royal Highness is assured of consistent support of all and prayers for Allah’s protection, long life, good health and sound judgment as he continues to pilot the affairs of the Emirate in the coming years towards a greater peace, development and prosperity for all.
