KWASU: Na’Allah hails Akanbi’s appointment, promises working relationship

…..As new Council chair meets Vice Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor of the Universiity of Abuja, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah has thrown his weight behind the new Vice-Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi (SAN) in his efforts to achieve all his set goals and objectives for the institution.


Similarly, the newly appointed KWASU Council Chairman, Professor Muhammed Baba has expressed his readiness to join hands  with the Vice-Chancellor of the University,  Professor Akanbi through provision of necessary advice that will stimulate aggressive growth and development in the institution.

Professor Na’Allah gave the assurance on Thursday when the new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Akanbi paid him a visit in his Ilorin residence.


Professor Na’Allah who is the pioneer  Vice Chancellor of the KWASU, described appointment of Professor Akanbi as a step in a good direction.


While describing professor Akanbi as a vibrant and seasoned Professor with landmark of achievements in his field of study, Na’Allah expressed confidence that the new KWASU boss would consolidate on the good legacy he met on ground.


According to him, the emergence of Professor Akanbi as  the KWASU  Vice-Chancellor is a good omen for the institution considering his academic and legal prowes that are quite inspiring.

While describing Professor Akanbi as a refined scholar, foremost lawyer, and seasoned university administrator, Na’Allah expressed confidence that the new Vice-Chancellor would bring his rich experience into bear in his bid to make the KWASU a world class institution.


He therefore emphasised the need for the KWASU and the University of Abuja to engage in harmonious working relationship especially in the areas of fund generation, research, teaching and community services.


In his comment, the KWASU new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Akanbi thanked professor Na’Allah for laying a good foundation for the KWASU and promised to do everything within his power to consolidate on that legacy in order to move the Universiity to a loftier height.


Professor Akanbi commended his predecessor for his willingness to form a synergy with KWASU and was confident that the seamless working relationship between the two universities would give birth to tremendous fruitful results.


In the same vein, the newly appointed KWASU Council Chairman, Professor Muhammed Baba  promised to use his connection and wealth of experience to further move KWASU to an enviable standard.

Professor Baba made the pledge in Ilorin on Thursday when the principal officers of the KWASU, led by the Vice-Chancellor, paid him a visit.


He said the council would work assiduously to ensure that the Universiity sustains it’s good name and takes a leading role among the comity of Universities in the country and beyond.

In his remarks, the KWASU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Akanbi congratulated the new Council Chairman over his appointment and expressed the readiness of the University management to work closely with the Council so as to collectively make KWASU a Universiity of choice not only in Nigeria but also in sub Sahara Africa and the world at large.
