The kwara state Government has again been eulogized for its outstanding performance in educational sector most especially the training and retraining of teachers in the state.
The stakeholders in education comprises ANCOPSS, NUT, AUPSHON, NAPS and a host of others made this commendation during the week at the three days intensive workshop organized for serving French Teachers from kwara North Senatorial District organized by the State Government at Okuta in Baruten Local Government area of the state.
In his remark,the Secretary, ANCOPSS, Alhaji M.Y, appreciate the present administration for its commitment towards education development.
According to him, the importance of French language in our society cannot be over emphasized and beseeched the State Government to employ more French language teachers in public schools across the state.
He further said this programme would impact positively on the efficient performance of students in their external examination.
Also speaking, the Education Secretary, Baruten LGA, Mallam Mustapha, thanked the present government for its initiative on training of teachers for excellent performance.
He appealed to the State Government to provide means of transportation for the enhancement of the effective monitoring of schools.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Education, Hajia Mariam Ayodeji Garba who was represented by the Director School Services, Mr Timothy Ogunwole identified training as necessary ingredient for efficiency and productivity.
He said the regular training and retraining exerciset would keep staff abreast on pedagogical shift in learning of the 21st century students.
He said the opportunity in learning modern Techniques of Teaching will reshape the mental and academic status of Teachers who are expected to impact knowledge on students for better performance.
He therefore implored the participants to give rapt attention to the lecture and display leadership qualities for them to be able to impact positively on their students.
