A former Kwara State governorship candidate of Labour Party in 2015, Dr Mike Omotosho, has warned that it was too premature for Kwarans to celebrate the defeat of candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.
He said the enemy of Kwara as an independent state among her contemporaries was yet to be shown the way out of power and cautioned that a drowning man gasping for breath would employ all it takes to stay alive.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to Journalists in Ilorin, Omotosho noted that the popular “O to ge” mantra of the All Progressives Congress (APC) proved to the discerning minds not to be just a feeble cry but a bold declaration of freedom.
He stated that the victory opposition recorded in the first round of the general elections should not make the electorate to trade their weapons for drumsticks, saying that one more blow was needed to send message home.
The former Labour Party governorship candidate, who is also the founder of Mike Omotosho Foundation, urged Kwarans to leave no stone unturned and commit themselves to a complete purge of the state from subjugation.
Omotosho admirably referred to as “Omotosure” called on the state electorate to come out en mass and replicate what was done in the Presidential and National Assembly polls, maintaining that this was not time for power play.
It would be recalled that the presidential candidate of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari won the presidential poll while candidates of the party for the nine National Assembly also cleared all the seats.
Omotosho congratulated President Buhari on his victory and urged him not to rest on his oars in propelling the country to the next level.

“Kwarans, my dear kwarans, our mantra “O to ge” has proven not to be just a feeble cry but a bold declaration of freedom. We have done noble, we have fought valiantly, indeed we have loosened the grip of the slave master.
“But we must rejoice not just yet, we cannot trade our weapons for drumsticks, not just yet! One more blow is needed to send the message home. History must have taught us that we must leave no stone unturned. We must commit to a complete purge of our state from subjugation.
“What do we want? What is the goal that we set for ourselves? Let’s leave the congratulations till later, there’s no room for arrogance, no time for power plays, it’s time for us to call in the reinforcements, to gather our strong men, to sit and strategize, to bring our best men together and defend our home.
Kwarans, let’s show the slave masters that indeed O to Ge”, Omotosho said.
