The National Executive Council of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union has distanced itself from a press release purportedly issued by her on the circumstances which led to the stepping-aside of Ambassador Sheikh-Usman AbdulAzeez (fwc)from the office of the National President of the Union.
The Union stated that there had been no other statement apart from the earlier one issued on Thursday,27th December,2018, by the National Secretary of the Union,Prof.Abubakar Sidiq Mohammed Afunku,which explained that the respected Diplomat willingly stepped aside from the leadership of the Union.
The Union according to a statement issued by her National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar S. Imam said the purported report did not emanate from IEDPU.
“The Union wishes to make it clear that, contrary to the import of the false statement,which did not emanate from her National Publicity Secretary, His Royal Highness,the Emir of Ilorin,Alh.(Dr.)Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR,played no role,whatsoever,in the development.
“It is also important to warn impostors to stay clear of the Union and desist from impersonation of her officials.News media are equally enjoined to always seek clarification from the appropriate organ(s) of the Union, particularly at this political season, before going to the press or on air so as to forestall misrepresentation of facts” the statement added.
