It was a colourful event and a day of great jubilations as the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, further demonstrated his passion for women by empowering 100 women associations through his constituency office with a sum of 20 milion naira.
Speaking at the event, the Director-General, Mandate Constituency office of the Senate President, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, while handing over the cash to the women associations, said the gesture was to encourage them to be self reliant and contributors to their family upkeep, urging them to put the money to optimal use for the good of their families in particular and the society at large.
The DG further reiterated the Senate President’s commitment towards women development and urged the market women to be steadfast in their support for the Senate President cum leadership of the State.
Addressing the joyous crowed in the same vein, the elated State Woman of the PDP, Hajia Ramat Razaq-Oganija, lauded the Senate President for making history by empowering large number of associations and implored the women to remain firm and committed to the Saraki/PDP project.
“The Senate President is truly a leader to reckon with. A reliable leader and father of all whose kind gesture knows no limit. We have been witnessing his largesse for decades but this is another feat that will linger in our memories. Saraki is positively touching lives of the downtrodden, less privileged windows, children and youths of the state, I can only describe him as the Messiah of our generation, and pray God to continue sustaining him with good health and longer life to enable him continue his good works to humanity,” Oganija said.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Iyaloja of Kwara State, Hajia Lambe, commended the Senate President, for vigorously keeping to his promises of bettering the lots of Kwarans through the provision of basic social needs, which the market women/associations are beneficiaries.
The Iyaloja who advised the members of the associations to utilize the funds judiciously, however called on them to keep faith with Saraki leadership of the state and vote en mass for the PDP in the coming 2019 general elections in line with gratitude and prosperity.
