AT LAST: FG approves N30,000 as Minimum Wage

President Muhammadu Buhari has finally approved the sum of N30,000 as new minimum wage as earlier proposed by the Tripartite Committee set up to review the national minimum wage.

President Buhari, according to Sahara Reporters, endorsed the new wage on Tuesday, November 6 shortly after he received the report of the committee presented to him.

The president pledged to present the new minimum wage bill before the National Assembly for action as soon as possible.

He also urged Nigerian workers not to allow themselves be used as political weapons.

It would be recalled that the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) suspended its planned strike action following an agreement reached with the federal government to give room for dialogue and government’s on the proposed new minimum wage.
