Hajia Balikis Oniyangi
As the 2019 general elections are fast approaching, more groups, associations and individuals have joined the calls on the Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Bilikis Oniyangi to signify interest for the seat of Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
A non-political group, Youth Emancipation Movement in Ilorin South LG had recently launched the calls on Hajia Bilikis Oniyangi to join race for the seat of Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

Mallam Hussein Baba in a statement noted that it was very imperative for Hajia Oniyangi to join the race because she has all it takes to deliver in line with the people’s mandate.
Speaking in the same vain, another group, under the aegis of Women Liberation Forum (WLF) from Ilorin East Local Government was convinced that if Hajia Oniyangi was given the opportunity, the interest of women and youth would be adequately protected.
In a statement issued by its coordinator, Mrs Ibrahim Anike, the forum described Hajia Oniyangi as a woman of substance who would add more values to governance and more importantly to the life of her people if given the opportunity to represent her constituency at the higher capacity.
The statement further described Hajia Oniyangi as a trustworthy politician who would represent her people appropriately at the National Assembly if given the chance to serve in that capacity.
The group expressed confidence in the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the constituency if Hajia Oniyangi was given the mandate because of her popularity appeal and acceptability among her people.
According to the statement “considering the present political situation in the state and the country at large, it is very important for party stakeholders to present popular and acceptable candidates in the incoming elections for the accomplishment of victory.
“That is why we are passionately calling on the leader of PDP in the state and other stakeholders to persuade the state commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Bilikis Oniyangi and prevail on her to join Reps race.
“We are not unaware that many groups and individuals have started mounting pressures on her but she is yet to respond in affirmative. We therefore join the calls on her to join the race in the interest of her people”.
Another community development association, Ifesowapo Youth Development Association said it was high time for responble politician like Hajia Oniyangi to answer the people’s calls.
The association which its branch cuts across all the 16 local governments, emphasized the need for the Commissioner to offer herself for the service of humanity by joining the race before it is late.
The spokesperson of the association, Mallam Ismail Olaiya said antecedent of Hajia Oniyangi prompted the association to join the calls on the commissioner to calls of her people.
