Omu-Aran gets new Oba, click to know who

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the appointment of Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti as the new Olomu of Omu-Aran in Irepodun local government area of the state.

The approval of the new Olomu of Omu-Aran became necessary following the demise of the immediate past Olomu of Omu-Aran late (Oba) Charles Oladele Ibitoye who died in December 2017, after a brief illness.

The Permanent Secretary, state Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Dr (Mrs) Habeebat Katibi, in a Press Statement released on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner, Alhaji Saidu Habeeb after the presentation of letter of appointment to the new Oba on Friday 7th September, 2018, congratulated the Royal Father on the well deserved appointment.

“This is to inform the general public that, following the death of the immediate past Olomu of Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Late Oba Charles Oladele Ibitoye, and in line with the required due process, His Excellency, Alhaji (Dr) Abdulfatah Ahmed, the Executive Governor of Kwara State has approved the appointment of a new Olomu of Omu-Aran in person of Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti” the statement read in part.

The Honorable Commissioner therefore congratulated the People of Omu-Aran and Irepodun Local Government Area over the appointment of the new Olomu and prayed that the rein of the Oba will usher in peace, progress and tremendous development in Omu-Aran and the State at large.

The newly appointed Oba, His Royal Highness,  Oba Adeoti was the immediate past Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Town Planning and Development Authority.

The immediate past Olomu of Omu-Aran, late Oba Ibitoye was installed as the Olomu of Omu-Aran in 1993 and died in December 2017 after a brief illness at the age of 65.
