The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, University of Ilorin, Professor Sylvia Malomo has disclosed that 64 percent of the 39, 289 candidates that sat for the Unilorin 2018 post-UTME screening scored 50 percent and above.
Professor Malomo said about 40, 000 candidates registered for the screening. She added that 39,289 applicants partook in the screening exercise while a total of 670 candidates were absent in both Ilorin and Lagos centers.
She noted that 36 percent of the participated candidates failed the test by scoring 48 percernt and below.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor disclosed this on Friday (August 31, 2018) in her office during an interview with newsmen about the just concluded post UTME exercise that held between Monday 27th and Thursday 30th of August, 2018.
Malomo explained that those candidates who missed the test during their stipulated time were given the opportunity to write the test on Thursday in a mop-up exercise which according to her brought a close to the exercise.
The University of Ilorin Deputy Vice Chancellor gave thanks to God for recording a smooth sailing screening exercise, saying that the university had begun process of colating the result for the admission of the successful candidates.
On the two students that were apprehended for examination malpractice on Monday during the screening exercise, Professor Malomo said one of them has been re-considered to write the test because investigation revealed that the error was from the cyber cafe operator where he registered as the operator mistakenly uploaded different passport.
She therefore advised applicants to be very vigilant while registering in the cafe and promptly report any error committed during the registration to the university through University ‘Help Desk’for possible solution before the exam day.
