People from all walks of life on Tuesday (February 13, 2018) paid their last respect to the former Chief Judge of Kwara State, retired Justice Saka Yusuf, who transited to the world beyond on Monday evening in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital after a brief illness.
The symmetrizers in their thousands converged at the residence of the deceased, G.R.A. Ilorin where the remains of late Yusuf, who was the former National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressive Union (IEDPU) was committed into the mother earth.
Among the dignitaries present at the Janzat Prayer included the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmad; the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Kawu; the Grand Kadi of the Kwara state Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice Ola Abdulkadir; pioneer grand kadi Justuice Orire and other past grand kadis.
Other personalities included the former President, Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salami; KWASU Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah; Professor Lanre Yusuf Badmas; National President of IEDPU, Ambassador Sheikh AbdulAzeez Uthman, and the Chief of Staff Government House, Alhaji Babatunde Abdulwahab among other personalities.
Leading the Janaza prayer, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Solihu who led a host of other distinguished clerics to the prayer, prayed God to grant the deceased Aljanat Firdaus.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the prayer session, the immediate past Grand Kadi of the Kwara state Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice Solihu Olohuntoyin Muhammade described late Saka Yusuf as a humble, generous, kindhearted and loving jurist whose contribution to judiciary would remain ever green in the minds of people.
He prayed God to grant him eternal rest and give all those he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.
Late Justice Saka Yusuf died yesterday, Monday, 12th of February 2018 after a brief illness at the age of 75 and survived two wives, children and grandchildren.
