The Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai,
Professor Kolo Samuel Tswanya is dead.
The news of the sudden death of the University’s Principal Officer has thrown the whole University community and Niger State into mourning mood.
Late Tswanya, who was a Professor of Linguistics and a former Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Communication Studies died early hours of today (Friday) 1st of December, 2017.
He was said to have slept last night without any complaint of sickness or ailment but couldn’t wake up this morning.
Professor Tswanya was a lecturer at the English Department, and until his death the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic of the IBBU.
Professor Tswanya was described as a consummate professor, thorough bred academician, and dedicated teacher to his students.
He has served the IBBU in various capacities meritoriously and had contributed immensely towards the progress and development of educational standard in Nigeria and beyond.
He would be sorely missed by members of the university community and entire people of Niger State.
Late Tswanya hailed form Muwa, Mokwa local government area of Niger state. He is survived by wife, Children and grandchildren.
His repose has been taken to the mortuary while the burial arrangements of the deceased would be announced later.
