…hails Gov AbdulRazaq’s all inclusive govt
The newly appointment Permanent Secretary for the Kwara State Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Wahab Kayode has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his all inclusive administration especially with the special recognition accorded to the Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs).
The Permanent Secretary gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen shortly after his swearing-in ceremony at Government House, Ilorin on Monday.
Kayode described the appointment of three Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) as Permanent Secretaries including himself as another demonstration of present administration’s inclusive policy that is meant to mobilise every segment of the society for collective growth.
According to him “I don’t know how to appreciate His Excellency again than to ask Allah to always stand by him, be with him and answer all his prayers, help him to direct the affairs of the state for the second term and help me to achieve higher position after his tenure as the Governor of Kwara State.
“His Excellency has proved to us the slogan that there is ability in disability. I’m a physically challenged person with poliomyelitis and His Excellency deemed it fit to appoint me as a Permanent Secretary. This is an unprecedented achievement. This is not the first time the Governor does that for we physically challenged people.
“He was the first Governor that took all his cabinet members to School for Special Needs for a budget debate meeting so that they would come and see the physically challenged persons in their state of existence and see how they were striving to become somebody in life.
“Again, when he wanted to appoint Permanent Secretaries, he appointed three of our members including Mallam Yakub Jaja, myself Abdullahi Wahab Kayode and Ayanwale Peter Kayode. This has shown that His Excellency is telling us that it is only mentally retarded people that cannot be useful again. He believes that no matter your physical disabilities, you can still become somebody in life if you are well educated”.
The Permanent Secretary also praised the Governor for the appointment of physically challenged person as his Special Assistant on Disabilities.
“This shows that His Excellency believes that only the person that wears the shoe knows when it pitches. This is a clear demonstration of his all inclusive administration. Not only that when His Excellency constituted the committee on subsidy removal palliatives, he included one of us as a member of the committee.
“The self recognition that the Governor is given to the physically challenged is a second to none and we pray Almighty God to reward him. And we pray Allah to stand by him in every area of his needs and may Allah guide and protect him in directing the affairs of the state”.
The Permanent Secretary assured that he would put in his best to justify the responsibilities of his new assignment.
“With Almighty Allah at my side, at my back and at my front, I will not disappoint the confidence reposed in me. I will strive and continue to dedicate to duties and perform ultimately so that the state in general will move forward”.
