Kwara RTEAN holds Ramadan lecture

The Kwara State branch of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has been applauded for organising Ramadan lecture, an initiative that was described as first of its kind in the history of the state RTEAN. 


An Ilorin based Islamic Scholar,  Shaykh AbdulRazaq Aduagba Al-Adabiyy who was the guest speaker at the programme, gave the commendation in his lecture just as he commended RTEAN for being one of the major employers of Labour in the country.


Speaking at RTEAN’s Secretariat, Airport road, Ilorin, where the lecture took place, the cleric enjoined Muslims to shun lies and be more committed to service to their creator, saying that every man would give account of his deeds in the hereafter.
Aduagba particularlly commended RTEAN for reducing poverty and hunger among the people by creating massive jobs  which he said  addresses the challenges of unemployment among the people.


Shaykh Aduagba advised members of the union to always ensure that their family members benefit from the gains of their labour.


According to him, “One of the actions that Allah appreciates most is when you make your family happy by supporting them financially especially when you spend your money on your household “.


He admonished people to always show a very high level of good  moral conduct  while performing their duties, and maintain  cordial relationship between them and their passengers. 


He affirmed that earth is not a permanent abode for all mankind. “We are all strangers on this earth, we shall all return to Allah to render account of our deeds “


Aduagba  also mentioned that all actions taken by Muslims are written down . ” I want to urge everyone to always do good and serve Allah the way we are commanded so as to be rewarded both on earth and in the hereafter “.


He described the job of RTEAN as one of the dangerous jobs in the country considering the level of the insecurity in Nigeria today, and prayed God to be their guard at all times.


In his remark , the chairman of the RTEAN in Kwara State, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olayinka Onikijipa revealed that  he introduced the annual Ramadan lecture to serve as a platform to educate members on their obligations to their God and humanity.


Alhaji Olayinka also said, the creation of Annual Ramadàn Lecture  would further unite members and also equip them morally, spiritually and religiously.


He then thanked the guest lecturer  for accepting their invitation . ” The lecture has provided us with lots of spiritual benefits, and we have also learnt from the lecture how we can gain in this world and hereafter.


Olayinka promised that the event would be a continuous exercise so that members of the association and other Muslims would continue to be guided by the wealth of experience of various religious leaders.


He appealed to members of the RTEAN to make use of the sermon delivered by Shaykh Aduagba and other Muslim Clerics in the society so that they would benefit from it on this earth and in the day of reckoning.


AbdulRahman also stated that, “if we allow ourselves to be guided by the Holy Quran and the Hadith of the Holy Prophet (SAW),  we will have peace in our lives “


Onikijipa also thanked state executives, chapel leaders and all other members of the union for their presence at the programme.


The event was well attended by  members of the Union in the State, their executives, and friends of Kwara RTEAN .
