….felicitates with Emir of Ilorin @25 on the Throne
As the nation felicitates with His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, on the Silver Jubilee anniversary on the throne, a call has been made for the immediate implementation of 2014 National Conference with respect to the enhanced advisory role of the nation’s royal fathers.
This call was made by Comrade Issa Aremu, a member of the National Institute and Vice President of Industriall Global union in a congratulatory message to His Highness onTuesday.
He said the record achievements of His Royal Highness in the past 25 years as the 11th Emir of Ilorin further points to the significance of traditional rulers in the task of nation building.
According to the labour leader, the prevailing spirit of tolerance and peaceful co-existence within the Ilorin Emirate, the entire Kwara State, the geometric increase in the number of private and public tertiary institutions, the historic renovation and maintenance of Ilorin Central Mosque to a world class edifice and the Royal admonition on the prevention of the spread of COVID: 19 through social distancing and the use of face masks are indelible imprints of His Royal Highness.
Comrade Aremu also recalled that as a notable member of the 2014 National Confab, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, was an effective Royal voice for the progress, peace and unity of Kwara State, the North and Nigeria as a whole.
The former governorship candidate on the platform of Labour Party in Kwara State, during 2019 elections and labour delegate to 2014 Confab said it was time for President Buhari implemented the 2014 Confab’s resolutions which among others recognize the role of traditional institutions as advisory in the Constitution and recommends the establishment of a National Council of Traditional Rulers (NCTR) at the Federal level with terms of reference that include the involvement of Traditional Rulers in matters of tradition, culture and dispute resolution.
He prayed for a more rewarding and eventful sustained reign of His Royal Highness.
