Commissioner-nominee: BAGYUM lauds Mrs Modibbo-Kawu’s appointment

The Balogun Gambari Youth Movement (BAGYUM), a Non-Governmental youth Organization whose membership is drawn from four political wards in Ilorin East local government area of kwara state has lauded the choice of Mrs Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu as one of the just released commissioner-nominees in the state.

The BAGYUM, which comprises of youths from Gambari I, Gambari II, Ibagun and Zango Wards, also commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for appointing Mrs Modibbo-Kawu as one of the first four commissioner-nomminees in the state.

According to a statement signed by the President of BAGYUM, Mallam Sulaiman Olayinka Sakariyah and made available to Journalists in the state, the appointment of Mrs Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu as one of the cabinet members of Governor Abdulrazaq is a step in a right direction.

Mallam Sakariyah described Mrs Modibbo-Kawu as a vissionary woman with high level of passion for the growth and development of youth and children who he said had been very helpful and supportive to adults and various youth organisations in the state.

The BAGYUM President particularly commended the commissioner-nomminee for the hand of fellowship she recently extended to BAGYUM during it just concluded annual summer classes where she paid NECO fees of three students.

He explained that the presentation of her scholarship award was made to the lucky students along side with other awards on Sunday (September 15, 2019) during the closing ceremony of the BAGYUM’s summer programme held at Karuma Primary School, Ilorin.

Sakariyah expressed optimism that with the inclusion of Mrs Modibbo-Kawu in the cabinet of Governor Abdulrazaq, the state will further witness accelerated sustainable development in all ramifications.

He advised her to bring her vast experience to bear in the course of performing her duty as governor’s aide in the interest of growth and development of the state.

Mrs Modibbo-Kawu is a 1997 graduate of Economics from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto. She also holds Masters in Business Administration from University of Ilorin and various certificates from Penn Foster Career School Scranton in the United States and Metropolitan School of Business and Management in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

She is a member of several professional bodies like the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria and Nigeria Institute of Management, she is a co-founder of a number of schools and learning centres.

She is the wife of Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mallam Is’haq Modibbo-Kawu.
