The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Dr Mike Omotosho, has described as saddening and devastating the death of Hajia Aisha Zulu-Gambari, mother of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari.
Omotosho stated that though the matriarch lived an impactful and exemplary life during her lifetime, her transition is contradictory to the expectations that people of her nature should live for a very long time.
In a statement issued and made available to Journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday, the former labour party gubernatorial candidate said the quality of virtues exhibited by the deceased while alive endeared all to her.
He maintained that the late Hajia Aishat Zulu-Gambari was a loyal, disciplined and humble woman, mother and wife, who also devoted her lifetime to the service of the Almighty Allah and humanity.
Omotosho, who is also the founder of Mike Omotosho Foundation regretted that the Emir, entire Ilorin Emirate and Kwarans as a whole had lost a rare gem and the vacuum created by her departure would be difficult to fill.
He commiserated with the Emir of Ilorin and the state traditional institutions for the colossal loss, saying that Hajia Aishat Zulu-Gambari would sorely be missed.
Omotosho urged the Emir to accept the passing of his mother as the will of the Almighty Allah and take solace in the fact that she lived a life worthy of emulation for all.
Omotosure as fondly called prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and that the Almighty Allah compensate her with paradise.
“On behalf myself, my family and friends, we express our condolences with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari, all traditional institutions in Kwara and the people of the Ilorin Emirate in particular over the transition of our mother, Hajia Aishat Zulu-Gambari into the next world.
“Though it is saddening and devastating for one’s mother to exit the stage of life, We are comforted in the fact that she lived an impactful and exemplary life for all to borrow a leaf from”, Omotosho added.
