Governor-elect promises LG authonomy in Kwara

The Kwara State Governor-elect, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdulrahaman, has pledged to abolish the existing local government joint allocation account in the state in order to add value to local government administration in the state.

Abdulrahaman also disclosed that he had got a nod from Cheif Executive Officer of the Bua Group of Companies, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, to invest 1 billion dollars on Agro-Allied Business in Kwara state.

The Governor-elect disclosed this on Tuesday in Ilorin during a dinner organised by Imran/Ibrahim/Oloko Group held at the state council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) hall.

Abdulrahaman who was representedon the occasion by Alhaji Funsho Abdulrasaq said the governor-elect promised that the controversial local government joint account would be laid to rest while local government authonomy will take effect from May 29th, 2019.

Abdulrasaq said the governor-elect was far away in Rewander to who investors that will invest in Kwara for the attainment of rapid economic prosperity

He added that free hand would be given to ministries and parastatals in the state to enable them perform maximally.

He explained that If the ministries work freely and local government is granted authonomy, there will be less tension, and the state will witness rapid socio-economic development against the hitherto stagnation that characterised the outgoing administration.

He thanked people of Kwara for voting in all candidates of APC in the just concluded general elections in Kwara state and appealed to them to be patient with incoming administration, pledging that with patience and endurance those things that have eluded Kwara will be regained in no distant time.

In their separate remarks, two of  conveners of the programme, Imran Ibrahim and Suhaib Obalowu said the event was organised to appreciate kwarans for their support for all APC candidates  and to also charge all elected officers to justify the confidence reposed on them by the electorate.
