Ahead of tomorrow’s bye-election into the federal Constituency seat of Irepodun/Ekiti/Oke Ero/Isin in Kwara state, the youth of the area have been urged to eschew bitterness, allow peace and unity to reign before, during and after the election.
The Kwara State Chairman of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum,Comrade Ishaq Kazeem Elewure made the plea in an interview with newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
He described peace and unity as the cornerstone of any meaningful development and urged the people of the area to embrace such as the election period.
The AYCF Chairman stressed that no meaningful development could be attained in an atmosphere of chaos and acrimony.
Comrade Kazeem Elewure implored the security agencies to continue to ensure violence-free elections in the area and urged people, particularly youth to support security men in discharge of their duty.
He asked electorates not to succumb to pressure, blackmail or any form of intimidation by those that wanted to cause disaffection during the election period.
