Sixty schools to participate in Maths/English competition in kwara

The Saliu Mustapha Foundation has concluded arrangements to commence inter Secondary Schools Mathematics and English Competitions in Kwara state.
The competition which is designed to have 60 participants across the three senatorial districts of the state will kick off on July 21st, 2018.
Addressing the press on Thursday (July 12, 2018) in Ilorin during a press briefing to unfold the commencement of the competition, the representative of the foundation, Yaqoob Ishowo said the theme of the competition is “Investment in Education, the solution to all Priblems”.
Ishowo explained that the theme was timely and deliberate especially at this period when the country is faced with problems of insecurity, destabilized system of education among others.
He disclosed that 20 schools would be selected from the each of three senatorial districts (Kwara Central, South and North) of the state to participate at the preliminaries.
Ishowo added that 10 secondary  schools with good performance at the preliminaries will be selected from each district to participate in the grand finale.
He disclosed further that First, 2nd and 3rd best positions will be awarded alongside their teachers at the grand finale scheduled to hold on the 4th of August, 2018 at Queen Elizabeth secondary school, Ilorin.
He disclosed further that the project was being supported by the state government through the state ministry of education.
Ishowo explained that the rationale behind the idea of the competition was to further improve the standard of education by a way of catching the students young and propelling  them develop mental positive attitude towards reading culture right from the primary, secondary and up to the tertiary institution.
Also speaking during the briefing, the Kwara State Commissioner for Education, Hajia Balikis Oniyangi thanked the founder of the foundation for investing in education and assured him of the state government support towards the success of the event.
