…….as UCSS celebrates ex-principal Imam Erubu, four others
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari has called on Governments at all levels to evolve policies and programmes that will enhance the infrastructural development of schools and good welfare packages of teachers.
Dr. Gambari who doubles as the Chairman, Kwara state Traditional Council of chiefs also appealed to the well-meaning Nigerians, contractors, authors, booksellers and other relevant agencies to contribute their quotas to the educational standard of the country so as to collectively move the sector forward.
The Emir made the appeal on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, in his address during the Send forth ceremony for the former Principal of the United Community Secondary School (UCSS), Taiwo, Ilorin, Alhaji Sulaiman Sanni (Imam Erubu) and two other retirees who have just retired from the school.
Dr. Sulu Gambari who spoke through the Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Soliu Woru Muhammad on the occasion, thanked the immediate past Principal of the UCSS, Alhaji Sulyman Sanni Imam Erubu and other retirees for serving the state in various capacities meritoriously and prayed God to continue to uphold them in their lives after service.
In her speech on the occasion, the Principal of UCSS, Hajia Wosilat Kamaldeen commended the retirees for their outstanding performance and for spending part of their lives in the teaching profession.
Mrs. Kamaldeen explained that the celebrants are former Principal, Alhaji Sulyman Sani Erubu, Mrs. Comfort Oladipo, and Hajia Monsurat Sodimu have all contributed immensely to building and producing human resources for the nation.
“The United Community Secondary School (UCSS) is appreciating the services of her immediate past Principal and transferred staff. I will like to congratulate our guests of honor: Alhaji Sulyman Sanni Erubu, Mrs. Comfort Oladipo, and Hajia Monsurat Bolanle Sodimu; they have contributed immensely to building and producing human resources for our nation, Nigeria. Surely, some of their products might be in high places contributing their quota to nation building” the principal said.
Responding on behalf of the celebrants, the former Principal of the UCSS, Alhaji Sulyman Sanni Erubu thanked the management of the United Community Secondary School for deeming it to appreciate them with a special send forth describing the celebration as a thing of joy to all the celebrants.
Alhaji Sulyman Erubu, therefore, called on the government to direct its searchlights to the development of education and ensure the review of teachers’ packages in order to serve as a good motivator and morale booster to the teachers.
Imam Erubu who manned the affairs of the UCSS between September 2015 and February 2017 as the Principal of the school, was described as a great achiever whose few period in the school witness a lot of tremendous achievements in the school.
