Isiaka Olayiwola Babatunde was born in the early 80s in Ibadan, Oyo state.

He has Diploma in Mass Communication, BSc in Sociology and MSc in Sociology (with specialisation in Criminology and Penology)

He began his primary education at LGEA School Laduba in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara state.

He proceeded to Community Secondary School, Ogbondoroko between 1992 and 1998. He was the Senior Prefect of 1997/98 session.

After his secondary education, he got admission to Study Mass Communication at the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CALLS), Adewole area Ilorin in the year 2000 and bagged Diploma in Mass Communication in 2002. He is one of the pioneer students of Mass Communication of the college.

In 2002, he did his compulsory Industrial Training (IT) at the defunct Peoples Advocate, an Ilorin based newspaper outfit founded by late General Abdulkareem Adisa of blessed memory.

He joined the services of The Herald Newspaper in January 4th 2004 as a reporter. He rose through the rank from the position of reporter to Senior Reporter. He traversed all beats as a reporter, vis-à-vis Kwara State House of Assembly, Judiciary, Ministries, Local Governments, Deputy Governor’s Office and Government House as the Herald Newspapers correspondent. Equally, he served two Deputy Governors of Kwara state (Chief Joel Afolabi Ogundeji and  Elder Peter Kisira) and two Governors ( Dr. Bukola Saraki and Abdulfatah Ahmed) as The Herald Correspondent.

In 2006, he secured admission to study Sociology at the  University of Ilorin and graduated in 2010 and did his compulsory one year NYSC programmes Government Day Secondary School, Potiskum, Yobe state between 2010 and 2011. He later put in for a higher degree in the same field and bagged MSc in Sociology in 2015 in the same ”Better by far” University.

He acted as the Assistant Secretary of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), The Herald Newspapers Chapel and later elected as the Treasurer of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kwara State Council in 2010, a position he occupied till May 2012. He was a member of NUJ National Constitutional Conference  Committee that held in Benin City in 2011.

He was appointed by the NUJ Kwara State Council as two terms  Chairman of Kwara NUJ Press Week Committee for 2015 and 2016 consecutively.

He was a member of Editorial Board of the maiden edition of The Surveillance Magazine, Department of Mass Communication, CAILS.

A Member of the maiden edition of The Social Mirror, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, University of Ilorin (now Faculty of Social Science) 2009/2010 session.

He left the service of The Herald Newspaper in March 2014 and joined the services of the University of Ilorin in 2014 as an Information Officer ll. He is currently reporting for Unilorin 89.3 fm and University weekly Bulletin.

He is the founder of Society for Positive Change Initiative (SPCI). SPCI is a community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the introduction and injection of ideas through research to address fundamental problems of society as well as engage in community development in every stratum of society.

During the course of performing his duty as a mainstream journalist, he has been privileged to conduct interviews with many eminent personalities in the country including the three former Presidents of Nigeria; President Olusegun Obasanjo, late President Musa Yaradu, and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

He is an active member of many organisations and professional bodies among which are:  Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA), Ilorin branch. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Youth Awake Initiative  for the Development of Africa (YAIDA).

He is currently the Treasurer of the NUJ Kwara State Council (from 2018 till date).
