MMWGN Coordinator counsels Nigerian journalists

Media practitioners in Nigeria have been called upon to be  fair, balanced and impartial in the discharge of their duties to guard against altercations and social unrest  in the country.

The National Coordinator of Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWGN), Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi made the call while delivering a lecture at the ongoing Ramadan Tafsir organized by Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria (IMAN), New Yidi Road, Ilorin, the kwara state capital.


The MMWGN Coordinator also advised nigerian journalists to imbibe professionalism in their reportage and be guided with the principles of and ethics of the profession so as to effectively perform their roles as fourth estate of the realm.


 Alhaji Abdullahi reminded  media outlets across the country  to refrain from religious, political and tribal sentiments as enshrined in the ethics of the profession and be i  the vanguard of promoting  national integration and community development in the interest of ensuring peaceful  coexistence. 

He identified  media as a veritable tool for socioeconomic development of any nation.
