Covid 19: KWSG Vacinates Kwara Hajj Pilgrims

The Kwara State Government in it’s effort to eradicate COVID19 pandemic in the State has commenced vaccination for 2021/22 Hajj Pilgrimage.

Speaking at the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board, the Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary HealthCare Development Agency, Dr.Nusirat Elelu said the Agency is committed to ensuring everyone get the vaccine which is to prevent any out break in the State, hence proper arrangement have been made to vaccinate about 2500 people for the Hajj Pilgrimage.

Dr. Elelu said the strategy is to roll the vaccination taking place within the premises of State Pilgrims Board will cover all intending pilgrims from all Local Government Areas. The 2-dose Covid 19 vaccine would be administered before the commencement of the annual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Also speaking, the State Immunization Officer, Alhaja Sarat Yunus said the State Team is on ground to capture all pilgrims and also administer the Vaccine on all applicants.

In his own contributions, the Board Chairman, Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulkadri Sambo thanked the Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency for the support, stressing that the exercise is organised and well appreciated by the Board.

The Executive Secretary of the Board further said that the vaccination will be scheduled to cover pilgrims throughout the 16 Local Government Areas starting with Ilorin West on Day 1 and Ilorin South and Ilorin East on Day 2. Also, the non indegenes that have applied under the Board will also be covered.

An intending pilgrims for the 21/22 Hajj Pilgrimage from Ilorin West, Mr. Shuaib Abiodun said the present administration as done well with the exceptional support.
