KWASU: BAGYUM rejoices with new VC, Emir of Ilorin, IEDPU, others

The Balogun Gambari Youth Movement (BAGYUM) has rejoiced with Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi (SAN) over his appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete.


The BAGYUM described Professor Akanbi’s appointment as a step in a right direction just as it urged the new Vice Chancellor to bring his vast experience in to bear in piloting the affairs of the Universiity to an enviable standard.


This was contained in a congratulatory statement signed by the BAGYUM President, Mr Sulaiman Olayinka Sakariyah, and made available to journalists in kwara state.

The association  commended the kwara state Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for approving Professor Akanbi’s appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of KWASU with effect from  1st of April 2020.


“The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq deserves commendation for appointing people of proven integrity in to various positions of authority in the state. Professor Akanbi’s appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU) is a round peg in a round hole” the statement said.


The statement also rejoiced with the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gamabari over the appointment of one of his sons and commended him for fatherly he has been playing for all sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate.


The BAGYUM equally rejoiced with the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the Third Estate, The Coremate and a host of others for their support and affection to the appointee.


The statement however urged the new VC to remain a good ambassador of the Emirate and justify the confidence reposed in him by the State Government and other critical stakeholders by ensuring that he left the KWASU after successfully completeling his tenure much better than he met it.
