Among the late members whose instances the prayer was organised include late Professor Shehu Jimoh, late Dr Shehu Adebayo Kamaldeen Adaramaja (Education), late Professor Saka S. Baba (Vet. Medicine), late Mallam Abdulganiyu Yahaya (Admin).

The association also used the medium to pray for other staff of the University of Ilorin that are not indigenes of the Emirate and the entire Muslim Ummah who  have equally left this sinful world.

The association also prayed for the students, staff and  management of the University of Ilorin and the successful tenure of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem

Speaking shortly after the prayer, the Chairman of IESA, Professor Sulaiman Alege Kuranga said the rationale behind the prayer was to offer prayer to the creator to kindly put a stop to the cases of losing members to the world beyond.

Professor Kuranga explained that the record of death rate of members being recorded in the recent times came as a rude shock and has become  a big concern to living members, stressing that the need for special prayer of this nature becomes very imperative.

The prayer was attended by members of both academic and non academic staff of the University who are indegenes of Ilorin Emirate.
