Abdulrazaq, Chief Imam, others paid last respect to Dr Gobir

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, representative of the Emir of Ilorin and Chiroma, Alhaji Abubakar Bature and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem were among the personalities that paid their last respect to the remains of late Dr Mrs Belawu Garba Gobir.

The remains of late Dr Gobir, who was mother of a frontline politician in Kwara State, Alhaji Yakub Gobir, have been committed into the mother Earth on Saturday, (August 17, 2019) in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Janazzah prayer (burial) took place at Alhaji Yakub Gobir residence, Umar Audi road, GRA, Ilorin, the kwara state capital.

The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu and supported by some notable Islamic clerics, family and friends as well as lovers and admirers of Gobir family.

Others were a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo and other leaders of the party from across the state.

Hajia Belawu Gobir died on Friday (August 16, 2019) at the age of 78.

In an interview, the first child of the deceased and former Governorship aspirant under the platform of the APC in Kwara State, Alhaji Yakub GOBIR said the values of humility, quest for knowledge and generosity of Hajia Belawu Gobir would be missed by the family.

Hajia Belawu Gobir graduated with a PhD in Educational Administration from the University of Lagos at the age of seventy.
