Kwara Deputy Gov lauds peaceful conduct of election

The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira has commended the people of the State for their peaceful conduct at the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections held on Saturday across the country.

Elder Kisira who cast his vote at about 11.20am at Poll unit 010 Baruten Local Government Education Authority School, Ilesha Baruba expressed delight with the turn out of the electorate particularly at his Unit.

Speaking with Journalists, the Deputy Governor described the election as peaceful and commended the electorate for their orderliness and peaceful conduct during the exercise.

He called on the people to embrace peace to ensure the development and progress of the State and the Nation.

Elder Kisira charged INEC and its personnel to be neutral and unbiased in the conduct of the exercise to build people’s confidence in the electoral system to strengthen the Nation’s democracy.

The Deputy Governor used the occasion to appeal to the people to cooperate with the government in its determination to build and ensure a virile society.
