Late Justice Mustapha Akanbi

Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi, who doubles as the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has said that life has been very challenging and prosperous for the family after the death of the matriarchal and patriarchal of Akanbi family.

Professor Akanbi dropped this on Thursday during a special prayer to mark the 5th year remembrance of his mother, late Hajia Munfa’atu Aduke Akanbi which is coincidentally mark the 5th month of the exit of late Justice Mustapha Akanbi held at Munfa’atu Aduke Akanbi Memorial Mosque, Agbadam road, GRA, Ilorin, the kwara state capital.

He said his mother died in November 2013 while the father, Justice Mustapha Akanbi left this sinful world in June 2018, saying that life without the two biological parents has been a trying period and at the same time very joyful

He said it has been a trying period because no one is too old to lose his parent, but saying that despite their demise,  they left good memories that affect the family members positively.

According to him, forty days after the demise of Justice Mustapha Akanbi in this year, his sister Asmau Yusuf Akanbi became a Judge of High Court in Abuja while himself was equally elevated to the exalted position of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria about ten days after his sister became the judge.

He added that other members of the family are equally recording various degrees of elevation and attributed these success stories to some of the good legacies left behind by their late parents.

Professor Akanbi (SAN) therefore described his late mother as a very caring, religious, loving, accommodating and a lover of everyone that came her way.

” We learnt a lot of lessons from her, lessons of tolerance, perseverance and patience” he said.

While thanking family and friends including lovers and admirers of the family for attending the prayer in large number, Professor Akanbi prayed God to grant his departed parents eternal rest and make them dwellers of Paradise.

Late Hajia Munfa’atu Aduke Akanbi

However, late Hajia Munfa’atu Akanbi has been described as a virtuous woman and exemplary housewife whose life style should be emulated by every woman that dreams of having a peaceful and prosperous married life.

The Imam of Massalam Islamic Foundation, Ustadh Mahmud Issa who led the prayer session extolled the virtues of late Hajia Akanbi, describing her as a true mother who showed care, love and affection to every one.

Imam Issa said late Hajia Aduke Akanbi lived a worthy life that made her a role model and shining example for all living house wives.

He prayed Allah to grant her and her beloved husband, Justice Mustapha Akanbi who died in early June of this year, aljanatul firdaus.

In his sermon at the prayer, Ustadh Ibrahim Mukhtar Oloyin described life as a mirage while the hereafter is a reality.

Oloyin urged Muslim faithful to embrace what is real and not allow themselves to be lured by the worldly attractions which he said is deceitful and unrealistic.
